Trained as a warrior, he was renowned for his swordsmanship. In Asakusa, Ch\u014dbei led a\u00a0<em>kumi<\/em>\u00a0(group or gang) opposing the\u00a0<em>hatamoto-yakko<\/em>\u00a0seeking to control the area&#8217;s markets. Finally, history tells us he was eventually killed by said\u00a0<em>hatamoto<\/em>\u00a0Mizuno J\u016brozaemon.<\/p>\n<p>The Last Days of Banzuiin Ch\u014dbei is a dramatic scene from a\u00a0<em>kabuki<\/em>\u00a0drama about his final days. His enemy, the samurai J\u016brozaemon, attacks him while at a bathhouse and without his weapons lunging at Ch\u014dbei with his spear, while another attacker thrusts with his sword. With an angry grimace, Ch\u014dbei pushes away the handle of the spear while defending himself with a makeshift weapon against the katana. Unable to kill him in combat, his enemies lock the doors setting the bathhouse alight ending the life of this Japanese folk hero.<\/p>\n<p>Pack contains\u00a0one miniature.<\/p>\n<p>Miniatures supplied unpainted and may\u00a0require\u00a0assembly.
