Contains eight Thorakites Mercenary Warrior
Appearing during the second century BC, the ‘armour bearers’ seem to have been an evolution of the thureophoroi, whose equipment they copies but with additional armour – usually mail. These troops were lighter than the phalanx or mercenary hoplites and could fight in both open and closed formations. At the same time, they were better able to last prolonged abttle than the thureophoroi.
Supplied with separate weapons, shields and plastic bases (ROUND, not square!)
